She graduated from UC Irvine in 1995 with honours receiving a B.S. in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Neuro-psychology as well as qualifying for a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Fine Arts. She graduated from the University of California at Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She attended a veterinary externship at Angel Memorial Hospital in Massachusetts and attended a summer externship in orthopaedic surgery in Los Angeles, CA. During veterinary school her emphasis was on mixed animal practice including exotic animal medicine with special interest in animal behaviour. She has since completed extensive coursework and/or certification in Animal Chiropractic (AVCA), Acupuncture (IVAS), Herbology (IVAS), Homeopathy (AVH), Applied Kinesiology, and Physical Therapy (University of Tennessee) as well as having studied many other healing arts with exceptional mentors. Dr. MacCorkle is also a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the United Kingdom and is a Reiki Master of the Usui lineage. Dr. MacCorkle is a charismatic lecturer and is currently teaching “The MacCorkle Method” of natural home care to audiences of animal guardians and veterinarians across the country. Dr. MacCorkle enjoys yoga, dance, playing music, and spending time outdoors in nature with her family. A dedicated and gifted Veterinarian, Dr. MacCorkle can usually be found directing her busy holistic  practice in southern California. She is the founder of Guardian Animal Aftercare, which provides a grief support program for the community as well as premium cremation/aftercare services. She founded Veterinarians Without Borders, a non-profit organization, which provides free veterinary care to those in need both locally and around the world. A strong emphasis was placed on the human-animal bond and the importance of philanthropy and community during her years in veterinary school. Let us not forget our beautiful mother earth. We all must realise the impact our every day actions have on our planet. Each decision we make leaves a print on our reality and the reality of others both in the present and the future. The time is now and the critical ingredient is you. Only through such commitment and innovation can true visions become reality.  Together we can truly make a difference. Remember to be conscious and to make your difference every day, in your way. Thank you again for your interest in holistic healthcare.

Rhiannon Pic #1

Dr. Rhiannon Fenton is a Southern California Native who grew up knowing from the age of five that she was going to be a veterinarian. However, she knew from the get-go she was going to be a healer, not merely just a doctor. Several intuitives told her along the way that she would be in a special niche, doing things differently and making a powerful difference in many individuals’ lives. Sure enough, that is what she is doing at Healing Touch Vets!
Throughout her academic pursuits, she was always on honor role and the Dean’s list starting from elementary school on through Undergrad. She graduated from Cal Poly State University, SLO with honors receiving a B.S. in Animal Science and a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Studies. In addition to participating in many internships, enterprise projects, leadership roles and community work, she also established her own successful horse-training business prior to going to vet school. She placed a large amount of her time teaching animal behavior, the human-animal bond and turning around horses that were unmanageable by their current guardian.
Dr. Fenton graduated from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine. During vet school, Dr. Fenton received her Reiki attunement and training. She has been practicing Reiki on animals ever since with wonderful results. Before graduating from vet school, Dr. Fenton began training in animal chiropractic at Options for Animals Veterinary Chiropractic School. She is now board certified in Animal Chiropractic and a member of the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture by the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Fenton employs the use of massage, Chinese and Western herbs, homeopathy, glandular therapy, food therapy, nutrition, flower essences, essential oils and other modalities that stimulate the body’s innate healing mechanisms. Her emphasis is always on supporting the body instead of attacking a man-made, labeled disease. She also believes that “an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure.”
When Dr. Fenton is not in the clinic helping small animals, she is helping the larger animals who can’t quite fit through the door! She is the founder and president of Vital Equine Holistic Veterinary Medicine and does house calls for all our equine friends. She provides the same services to them and other large animal species that we provide within the clinic. When not healing other horses, she is usually spending time with her two horses and enjoying the magical and loving bond she has with them.
